Sara Haynes, LMFT

Sara (she/her/hers) is a Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with young adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, and relationship concerns, including dating support. She works extensively with couples at every stage—from dating and premarital to supporting couples with young children and those seeking to deepen their intimacy. Sara also provides Discernment Counseling for couples considering divorce or separation, helping them get unstuck and find confidence and clarity in their path forward.

Clients who work with Sara experience a sense of safety through her compassionate, authentic, and relatable approach. As a culturally sensitive and inclusive therapist, she centers clients’ unique life experiences with care, ensuring they feel truly seen, supported, and heard.

If you work with Sara, you can expect that together, you'll explore your strengths, understand relationship patterns, and navigate through challenging areas with confidence. She aims for clients to leave their sessions understanding they are not a self-improvement project, but a worthy person on their own journey of growth and discovery.

Before becoming a therapist, Sara received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and was a teacher for over five years. She has extensive experience and knowledge in early development, which led her to pursue a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northeastern Illinois University. She is a licensed LMFT in Colorado and Illinois, and has extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based method for helping individuals and couples change negative patterns and increase closeness and connection. Additionally, she has training and experience utilizing the Internal Family Systems model (IFS) and the Gottman Method. Her work is rooted in family systems and attachment theory.

Outside of the therapy office Sara enjoys the slow moments. She enjoys a good yoga flow, cuddles with her cat, watering her plants, reading a good book in her hammock, and exploring Colorado's great outdoors.

Sara sees clients in-person in the Denver office and via Telehealth using a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. She has availability Monday - Thursday. Her session rates are $200/50 minutes and $300/75 minutes.
